FAQ

Where is your office located?

I have a home office in Chattanooga, so I get to see amazing people virtually daily. No matter where you are, there’s no need to fight traffic or carve out too much time to drive and come to see me. I also have an office in East Brainerd if you prefer to be seen in person.

Most clients prefer to be seen virtually from the comfort of your home/car/office.

Who is your perfect client?

I enjoy working with clients committed to grow and change and who value their healing journey. I love to help motivated individuals and couples ready to do everything necessary to achieve their goals.

With what age range do you work?
I work with clients ages 12 and up.
Do you work with men? Women? Couples? Adolescents?

Absolutely! However, my specialties are couples and deep individual work. Aside for weekly couples counseling sessions, I also offer couples online retreats and relationship coaching packages.

What can I expect in the first session?

We’ll start promptly. I will listen to you and strive to understand your concerns with empathy and compassion.

You’ll have the opportunity to tell your story. Toward the end of the session, I’ll share with you my ideas about what’s going on with you. Then, together, we’ll discuss areas where we want to focus in therapy.

How long will I be in therapy?

That depends on your current reality and goals.

Typically, you’ll see results from the very first session; after eight sessions of consistent work, you’ll experience a higher level of well-being.

After that, we’ll re-evaluate where we are and decide what to do next. I ask my couples clients to commit to three months of weekly therapy to achieve sound results.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
Two good ways to judge whether I’m the right person to hire are how you feel when we talk and how much progress you’re making once you start treatment.
Do you also do coaching?

I do individual and relationship coaching, and many times integrate coaching into my practice. I love to coach my clients with practical ideas to do at home. This work usually speeds up the progress and lessens healing time.

Do you take sides when you work with couples?

I do my best to avoid taking sides. My approach is very experiential; my goal is for each of you to be understood, validated, and at ease to share without feeling judged or blamed.

Do couples fight in front of you?
Sometimes that can happen, but it will not be like your regular fight. I will be there to coach you and resolve the issue in the session, so you do not carry it with you the rest of the day.
How long have you been in practice?

I’ve been practicing for over 20 years.

What do you enjoy about being a therapist?
I absolutely love to see my clients going from pain and struggling to peace, joy, and happiness! This is the reason I do therapy.
What licenses do you hold?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and a Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee.
Have you been in therapy yourself?

Yes. I have done extensive work and have found therapy very valuable. I regularly do BSP and marriage counseling as well.

Do you take notes?

Yes, I take notes to help me keep on track, stay focused, and measure your progress.

Am I allowed to ask personal questions?
Yes, you can ask personal questions. I disclose some personal information when I think it will be beneficial to my clients.
Cats or dogs?
Dogs, but being married to my “cat” husband has helped me enjoy cats, as well.
